Earth Observation Satellites are remote sensing satellites used for imaging tasks on Earth. However, they are still scarce with respect to the increasing uses and requests for imaging. As a result, the optimization of the scheduling plays an important role in the management of satellites. Here, the problem is modeled and implemented in a computational platform named AEROGRAF, and a hybrid Genetic Algorithm is used to handle the problem. The proposed method was able to optimize the scheduling for 300 targets in a few seconds, maximizing the given objective function.
