Electronic search is of paramount importance at the Maritime Operations Theater, given its ability to detect and recognize the target independently of sunlight. It is very little affected by weather conditions. The information on the surface can be obtained at distances and heights much higher than those of visual searches, even so, with high positional accuracy. The sensors contribute greatly to a better situational awareness of the search and rescue operation. This article proposes a discussion on the standardization of the use of these resources available in FAB aircrafts, awakening the debate on the subject in air squadrons, in addition to encouraging the search and rescue coordinating departments to consider the use of this equipment.
