Dear Reader,
Faced with the modernization and acquisition of new vectors, capable of producing a favorable imbalance for Brazil, in the future military scenario of Latin America, the Brazilian Air Force is facing the challenge of implementing them and, more than ever, be ready to exploit all the operational capacity of these aircraft and systems.
In this context, part of this great responsibility falls on COMPREP, whose mission is to prepare our Force for the maintenance of airspace sovereignty and the integration of the national territory.
As Gen. George S. Patton said, "Preparation is the key to success and victory. This concept, employed since World War II, remains current, however, far more comprehensive. Scientific knowledge, increasingly, is a fundamental part of the consolidation of preparation, due to the accelerated technological evolution of war systems.
The COMPREP, understanding that the training of its staff has a fundamental role in the generation of capabilities for the use of the means of Air Force, has sought to learn and understand the evolution of weapons systems and sensors. In this sense, the diffusion of issues of interest, and the interaction of the actors involved, whether from the academic world, industry, or the Armed Forces, is fundamental to promote the leveling of ideas and an integrated vision of the capabilities demanded by both current and future scenarios of the battlefield.
With the publication of the latest issue of Spectrum Journal, this Operational Command is intended to encourage each reader to seek their improvement, and bring the understanding that today's war demands much more of our military and equipment.
So, I invite you to navigate the wings of knowledge recently produced by our military, where you will find a diversity of content, ranging from mathematical modeling within aerial instruction, to matters relating to collision analysis between space objects.
As you advance in your reading, you will realize that the Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures consolidated in our doctrine of operation have originated, for the most part, in methodologies and scientific studies that are very criterion.
Finally, I hope you will enjoy the content produced, and be motivated to seek and produce new knowledge so that our Air Force is more prepared for the challenges ahead.
Enjoy your reading!
