Abstract

This paper aims to estimate the aging time and temperature of PBX aging using the Arrhenius equation, equivalent to the storage time at a temperature of 25 °C. The thermal decomposition curves were corrected by the DSC technique (Differential Scanning Calorimetry). The kinetic parameters such as the activation energy and the pre-exponential factor were determined by the Ozawa method and the Kissinger method. Initial results the study pointed out that for a period of 10 years of storage in storeroom or material it did not undergo changes related to aging. For studies of the life of the PBX, accelerated aging at a temperature of 60 °C for a period of five weeks is equivalent to five years of natural aging at 25 °C.
